Challenges and Requirements:
The client requested a virtualized mining training module where users could learn and understand various mining procedures. They also wanted to test the users’ understanding of the modules through assessment modules. The application should be built on Oculus Quest 2 and have environments matching real-world mining sites.
Our Solution:
VeeRuby developed a VR application that included most concepts described in the client’s training modules. We recreated the vital interactions needed to learn mining procedures using device controllers, providing an immersive experience to the users. In addition, the application allowed users to operate virtual mining equipment such as shovels, bulldozers, and excavators, giving them hands-on experience in a safe and controlled environment.
We created realistic environments that matched real-world mining sites such as mines, tunnels, and open pits. In addition, we included training assessment modules in the application to ensure the users understood the procedures correctly. The users were asked questions about the mining procedures they had just learned and graded based on their responses. The assessments were designed to be challenging yet fun, keeping users engaged throughout the training session.
Our experts provided 3D modeling and animations to create realistic environments that matched real-world mining sites. We also provided training on using the Oculus Quest 2 device, including how to put on and adjust the headset, use the controllers, and navigate the application.
